LOYALTY & DEDICATION
Judge Clay-Clark has always recognized the need and obligation
to give back to the very community that raised and supported
her. Throughout her legal career, Judge Clay-Clark gave unselfishly
of her time, services and legal expertise to various organizations,
individuals and entities. It was not uncommon that a client
or potential client would call without the ability to pay
for needed legal services and would in fact receive the very
legal services without being required to pay. Below is a sampling
of Judge Clay-Clark's dedication and loyalty to her community.
RAINBOW PUSH, CHICAGO, IL
LEGAL CLINIC, PRO BONO
For seven years, Judge Clay-Clark continuously served her
community in many capacities. As a pro bono attorney to the
Rainbow PUSH Legal Clinic, on a weekly basis, she patiently
listened to and counseled many people who attended the clinics
with various legal questions and issues seeking proper advice
and guidance.
CENTER FOR DISABILITY AND ELDER LAW, (CDEL) CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
PRO BONO LEGAL COUNSEL
Judge Clay-Clark in her capacity as a pro bono attorney rendered
legal representation on behalf of our community's Senior Citizens,
homebound and disabled for seven years. She traveled to the
homes of our seniors, and disabled citizens and prepared Wills,
Power of Attorneys, Quit Claim Deeds, etc. This invaluable
service to the community has made a difference in the lives
of many.

LEGAL COLUMNIST, PRO BONO
Always giving back to the community, Judge Clay-Clark wrote
a weekly legal column for four years for the Citizen Newspaper.
She dispensed pertinent, legal information to the community
on a timely basis. Her articles covered a multitude of topics,
such as: Guardianships; Wills; Powers of Attorney; Bankruptcy,
Real Estate, Living Wills, etc. She was highly acclaimed by
the community for this invaluable service.
FIRST DEFENSE LEGAL AID, CHICAGO, IL
PRO BONO LEGAL COUNSEL
In an effort to level the playing field and out of dedication
to the community at large, Judge Clay-Clark worked as a pro
bono counsel for First Defense Legal Aid for three years.
During her 12-hour shifts, upon receiving calls from an indigent
detainee at the Chicago Police Department Precincts, Judge
Clay-Clark traveled to various precincts and protected the
rights of detainees during interrogations, police line-ups
and felony reviews. She remained until it was known whether
her client was appointed a public defender, retained his/her
own attorney or was released.
